HOW IT WORKS

Solar Energy Systems

1. Solar panels convert sunlight into direct current (DC) electricity which is then routed to the Inverter

2. The Inverter converts DC electricity into alternating current (AC) electricity

3. AC electricity then travels to the electrical panel/circuit-breaker box where it's distributed throughout the building

4. When the system produces more electricity than is being consumed, surplus electricity flows through the net meter and out to the utility grid. This creates an electricity credit that can be used when the system's solar panels are not producing electricity—such as at night
A GREENER, CLEANER GRID.

That's Grean.

GreanGrid Solar is making it possible to "go solar" with almost no upfront costs. GreanGrid Solar works with qualified property owners to determine solar-leasing rates that are consistently at or below typical electric-utility rates for comparable usage levels. That's right; You can get clean energy for the same, or less than, the electricity you get now from fossil-fuel-burning power plants.
RENEWABLE ENERGY

Solar Power

Solar is predictable, scalable, and renewable. Using solar solutions in remote areas outside electric-utility grids is more than convenient—it's almost a necessity. But industry pioneers like GreanGrid Solar are rapidly implementing solar solutions within the existing utility grid to fundamentally restructure how we all produce, distribute, use, and conserve energy.

Financial Incentives

People nationwide are being motivated to utilize solar energy by federal, state and local authorities offering powerful financial incentives. Some of these programs can take more than 66% off the preliminary cost!

Fixed Costs

Utility rates have increased an average of 9% per year over the past 10 years for residential properties. These rates will continue to be fragile in the coming years. You can enjoy the stability of a fixed energy price when you go solar.

Clean Energy

Fossil fuels make up more than 95% of the energy used in the U.S. These fuels are burned for energy and release toxic gases into the air, causing pollution. When you utilize solar energy systems you are reducing global damage.

Expert Installation

GreanGrid Solar installation teams are educated and experienced, and adhere to building codes and industry standards. We have done the research on our products to ensure our solar panels are guaranteed to last.

Frequently Asked Questions

What happens at the end of the solar panel lease?

You have three options. You can renew the solar lease, buy the solar energy system, or terminate the lease. If you terminate the lease, GreanGrid Solar will remove the system at no cost to you.

What happens if I sell my property?

You can transfer your solar energy lease to the next property owner at no cost and GreanGrid Solar will help you find a solar energy solution wherever you move. If you've leased your system more than five years, you also have the option of buying it, and including it in the sale of your property. Studies have shown that solar-energy systems can significantly increase property resale value.

How do solar systems hold up in strong weather and hail?

Weather damage is very rare. Solar panels are designed to withstand very severe weather. Most property owner’s insurance policies will cover solar systems at no additional cost and adding the system to your policy is easy. We’ll fill out the necessary forms that you will submit to your insurance agency.

Why would I want a solar power system installed on my property?

People choose solar power for a variety of reasons, including wanting to take an active role in protecting the environment, wanting to offset rising utility costs, and wanting to decrease their property's energy-consumption demand on the electric-utility grid. It also may increase the value of your property. Some people just think the solar panels look cool.

Why can leasing solar power be better than buying a solar panel system?

Leasing residential solar or commercial solar significantly reduces upfront costs and locks-in a fixed rate which can save you money as conventional-utility costs rise. And you don't have to worry about managing registration, regulatory, and solar installation processes. (Still want one all your own? With GreanGrid Solar, you have the option to buy a system right from the start, or by opting out of your lease any time after five years. Ask a GreanGrid Solar rep for details.)

Why should I use GreanGrid Solar?

We think our solar-power solutions offer innumerable advantages over using electricity from conventional fossil-fuel-burning utility providers—even those with solar panel services. We are an experienced Solar Energy Services Developer with a proven record of quality and customer satisfaction. Our driving goal is to help accelerate the use of solar energy across the United States and around the world. Our solar leasing rates can offer savings over conventional utility costs from the start, and potential added savings as utility rates rise. Our solutions enable property owners to quickly switch to solar with almost no upfront investment.

How much will it cost to lease a GreanGrid Solar system?

Your fixed solar lease payments will be comparable and, in some cases, lower than what you pay for the same electricity right now. For example, the lease payment for a 2500 sq-ft to 3000 sq-ft house is usually between $50-$60 per month, billed quarterly. This may cover up to 90% of your electricity bill in the winter and up to 60% in the summer. A typical business owner pays between $450 and $550 per month to lease a solar system and the optional fixed lease gives them certainty in planning future projections.

How do I know if I qualify for the GreanGrid Solar system leasing program?

Most property owners qualify for our solar leasing program as long as the property meets minimum solar-readiness criteria. Leasing is subject to credit approval. Ask a representative for details.

Can I buy a solar power system from GreanGrid Solar, instead of leasing it?

Yes. Ask a GreanGrid Solar sales representative to create a quote based on your unique electricity consumption and corresponding solar energy needs. You can then compare the cost of purchasing a system to the GreanGrid Solar leasing solution.

What is the "catch" to or the risk with leasing solar power from GreanGrid Solar?

We don't think there's a catch, really, but we're always up-front about how the system works. You still have to make payments to your local utility for the electricity they provide you, and we will apply a penalty if you break your lease without re-assigning according to the terms of your agreement.

What if I need to break the solar panel lease?

If you break your solar lease, we charge a cancellation fee to cover the cost of uninstalling and storing the solar energy system. The cancellation fee is reduced annually during the term of your lease. (Read sample lease agreement terms.)

Are there any other fees involved in solar panel leasing?

We do not charge standard fees when you meet the terms of your lease from GreanGrid Solar. We charge a cancellation fee if you break your lease. Additionally, some property owners may wish to purchase the installed GreanGrid Solar system. In these cases, a buy-out fee would apply. We calculate applicable fees based on your unique circumstances—including system age and condition, removal requirements, and other factors. Contact us, and we'll address your situation directly.

Will a GreanGrid Solar system increase the value of my property?

Most likely. Studies have shown that residential solar energy upgrades that you make can increase the value of your property by 20 times the amount of money you are saving every year. For example, if you’re saving $600 each year because of energy upgrades, your property value may increase as much as $12,000.

What is Net Metering?

Every GreanGrid Solar system includes an integrated metering device that automatically controls and measures electricity flow between the system and the electric-utility grid. When your system produces more electricity than your property consumes, the solar net meter registers the surplus as an electricity credit. When your property demand exceeds system production, the net meter uses electricity credits to draw energy from the utility grid. With net metering, you pay your local utility for only the difference (net amount) between what your property uses and what your solar energy system produces.

What happens to my roof at the end of the solar lease when the solar panels are removed?

Don't worry, your roof will be in good shape. Most of our solar installations do not penetrate the roof surface. If we have to modify the roof surface or structure to install solar panels—by creating screw holes, for example—we'll properly fill and patch or restore the pre-installation condition with high-quality roofing materials.

How often will my GreanGrid Solar system require maintenance?

Because GreanGrid Solar systems have no moving parts, they rarely require maintenance. GreanGrid Solar warrants fully all system parts and solar installation for the life of the lease. We also monitor our systems regularly to make sure they are performing as expected.

How long do solar panels last?

GreanGrid Solar panels include a 25-year warranty and are designed to last more than 30 years.
